SUMMERCANES MOVIE IS OUT.
NEW BEATLES VIDEO/SONG RELEASED.
VETERANS DAY 11-11-23.
The SUMMERCANES video took a lot of time to edit and put together. I mean good lord we had Hurricane FRANKLIN, IDALIA, LEE, NIGEL, and PHILIPPE. That's 5 storms that gave us great waves. And I shot all five and edited this video as it happened with every swell. Each wave and each ride in the order that it happened. I was pretty stoked to be able to put this together.
And I dedicated the movie to my late drummer Lenny Dunn. All the music in this video is by our band THE NOR'EASTERS. Lenny is drumming on every song. The NOR'EASTERS were together for 35 years, The same members for 35 years. We did mostly original songs with a few covers (Hendrix, SRV, and Jeff Healey). When Lenny died, so too did the band. I won't play out as The NOR'EASTERS without Lenny. And Johnny and Whitey feel the same.

This is Max Fatello slipping into an early morning IDALIA wave. I swam out this morning and shot for like 3 hours. I got some pretty footage from this particular swell.

Beckley is one the most stylish
surfers that I know. He clearly has his own unique style of surfing that is pleasing to the eye. Whenever he is out I know
I'll be getting some cool footage. He never disappoints.
This is Ian Dreher. Ironically, he and Beckley are pretty tight and they surf together all the time. When they are both out? I know I'm going to get the goods. They are both in this video quite a bit. The video is long. So maybe you watch it in increments. But do watch it, I spent a lot of time on this thing.

Ed O'Connell was one of the most loved surf photographers in New England. A US ARMY Vietnam Veteran who saved the lives of so many ARMY Grunts in Nam in 68-69 as a Medic on board those Dust Off Hueys.
He was a dear friend of mine.
When he passed on July 1st, 2014 I swore I'd keep his memory and legacy alive by giving him this weekly corner. He loved surfing and he loved taking photos of all the surfers. Not just those who could really stand out. He shot every one. As long as I shall live and breathe the salt air, there will be a corner dedicated to Ed.

COMING THIS FALL/WINTER (December-January). The long awaited book that I have been writing the last 10 years or so. Yes, there will be a book signing. And I will let you all know in advance, where and when. The book will be available in both hard cover and soft cover on AMAZON, BARNES & NOBLE, INGRAM, GOOGLE BOOKS, and KOBO PUBLISHING.
It's been a long time coming. I'm pretty stoked about this project.
72 years in the making. So please be patient with me and stay tuned. The book is coming. It's just taking longer than I had originally anticipated. But it's coming.
Most of my close friends have heard some of these stories first hand. But trust me, with over 100 stories, there's a handful that none of you have ever heard. It's true. Be patient my friends. It's all coming in the fall of 2023. Just in time for the holidays.

Anyone who knows me that I am a huge BEATLES fan. Before any of my other favorite bands like KING'S X, the CARS, HENDRIX, SRV, and every other band I ever loved. The BEATLES will always be the BEST Band that ever lived and played music. Nobody comes close to them. NOBODY. Not the Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, you name it. None of them come close. I'm speaking of course about my own personal opinion.
Ironically I wrote a song two years ago called "EVERY NOW AND THEN" and I had wanted to record it, but now with this new Beatles song? I guess I'll just have to shelve it. Maybe I'll still record it for my own library.
PATRIOTS LOSE TO THE COMMANDERS

The New England Patriots are now 2-7. And once again, they have slipped into last place. Both Miami and Buffalo lost as well. Which is too bad, because had we won? We would have been sitting within striking distance. But alas my friends, 'tis not to be this year.
And I MUST admit. This loss was not on Mac Jones.
He made enough solid plays to have won that game. But two of his receivers actually had perfectly thrown footballs go right through their hands. I mean come on. You guys get paid MILLIONS of dollars to catch footballs. So, you NEED to catch the ones that hit you in the hands. Is that asking too much? Catch the damn balls!
This week's loss was easily attainable. They could have and should have won. Shit, the Bills and The Dolphins lost. That was a gimme game. They just can't seem to all get on the same page.

HAPPY VETERANS DAY 11-11-23
My late Uncle Angelo and his friend "Kim" in Korea 1951. My uncle Angelo received the BRONZE STAR for Bravery in 1951. He was always pretty humble about it. But he saved the day by running ammo to his Machine gunners through a hail of murderous fire from the North Koreans.

And John (Grandpa) Rastl was a fighter pilot in the Air Force. Nobody i know has gone faster in an aircraft than John. Here's a recently found photo of John piloting one of the most bad ass airplanes on the planet. The A-10 WARTHOG.
Also known as The TANK KILLER. John flew many planes besides the A-10.
I knew he flew The Phantom F-4's and the F-16's as well. John trained many a pilot to fly these incredible machines. And John is one of the nicest human beings on the planet. We all LOVE him so much.

With this being VETERANS DAY week, I thought I'd share some pics from Khaliddy's time in his own branch of the service. As you all know, Al Qeada were known for their creative thinking when it came to training. They had their own Monkey Bars that they would all use and train with. Monkey Bars? Yup. Those boneheads couldn't afford anything else, so they stole some playground equipment from the locals and built their own Terrorist Training Camp and the losers all trained on Monkey Bars. Brilliant.
Now they are actually training monkeys to use AK-47's on unsuspecting civilians. Monkey's with AK's? Oh hell to the NO!.
It looks to me like The Sheik is not too happy with either one. Monkey Bars and Monkeys with AK 47's? Damn.
And so my friends, please take advantage of this weekly photo shop of the mastermind who planned 9-11 and resulted in the deaths of 3,000 innocent civilians by KSM (Khalid Sheik Mohammed). *Note to self -must pick up a case of Monkey Chow at the Home Depot this week.

THE FATELLO BOYS . YESTERDAY IN 1944 AND IN 1970.
I couldn't help myself when I did this about 15 years ago. I simply photoshopped me standing next to my dad (Gus) when he was in GUAM in 1944 and I was in NAM in 1970. It became an instant classic image. I am all about using photoshop for practically everything. But I really enjoy doing the personal stuff like this here/. I just wish my father had lived long enough to see this. He passed away at age 75 in 2000. Hard to believe he's been gone that long. Happy Veterans Day dad. I love you and miss you.
